History and Information

The Mission of the Center is to conduct research congruent with the interests of NOAA Fisheries and to prepare students for careers in research, management, and public policy that support the sustainable harvest and conservation of our nation's living marine resources.

Research activities of the Center fall into four thematic areas and is a collaborative effort among researchers from the partner institutions and NOAA Fisheries staff. The thematic areas of research are: Fisheries Socioeconomics, Quantitative Fisheries, Essential Fish Habitat, and Aquaculture.
