GA-SC Ocean Sciences Bowl 2012 Competition Schedule
General Information Team check in for this year's Ocean Sciences Bowl will begin at 7:45 am in the Social Sciences Building (SSB) at Savannah State University shown on the SSU campus map available here: Google Map (you might have to hit the back button after following the link to see the locations added to the map)
Hotel & Check-in The host hotel is the Hampton Inn & Suites Midtown located at 20 Johnston Street, Savannah, GA 31405. It is located on Abercorn Street next to the Hilton Garden Inn and just south of DeRenne Avenue. The phone number is 912.721.5172. Rooms have been reserved for registered teams and those who arrive before 9pm in Friday may receive their registration packets between 7-9pm in the breakfast area of the hotel. Room charges are direct billed; teams are responsible for any incidentals.

Competition Structure The Southern Stingray Bowl will consist of a Round Robin competition in the morning followed by a single elimination competition in the afternoon. The results of the round robin competition will be used to seed the elimination bracket. Find out which Round Robin group you are in using the following link:

Directions to the hotel from I-95 From I-95 - Take exit 99A for I-16 E to Savannah. Take exit 164A to merge onto GA-21 S/I-516 E/US 17 S/US 80 E toward Lynes Parkway. Continue onto W. De Renne Ave. Turn right onto Abercorn St. The hotel will be a few blocks on your right.
Directions from the hotel to SSU Turn left onto Abercorn St. heading north. Turn right onto E. De Renne Ave. Continue under the Truman Parkway overpass and turn left onto LaRoche Ave at the stop light after DeRenne shrinks from 4 to 2 lanes. Turn right into Savannah State University. Make sure you get a visitor parking pass at the front gate. Continue onto campus to the 3-way stop sign. Turn right (traffic becomes 1-way here) and follow the road past Tiger Arena (on your right) and then look for the Social Sciences Building (CLASS on campus map) on your left (new building with white columns in front). Registration, breakfast, and the competition will be on the first floor of this building. Buses, look for special bus parking signs on your right. If you accidently pass the building, continue to the 4-way stop. Turn left, drive across the parking lot, and turn left again to go around the loop back towards the front of campus. This is also how you will exit campus at the end of the day.
